Clean Shave: A Lion's Story.
Once upon a time there was a Lion, Majestic and dashing. He had a lovely wife. Things were hunky dory till one day the Lioness read it in the media about one ad that promoted a clean shaven look. It was called as WALS: Women Against Lazy Stubble.
An extract of the press release read the following:
"The message that WALS intends to spread to men across the country is three fold:
1. Till men don't shave, we will not co-operate with them.
2. Now that the comfort of Gillette Mach 3 is affordable, there are no more excuses to not be shaving.
3. If men don't shave, they shouldn't expect women to groom themselves either."
The Lioness was now under social pressure due the pseudo survey done by a paid agency and she requested the Lion to shave off.
Lion in return supported his style statement. He showed a survey to the Lioness that read that clean shaven was last on the list of masculinity and tried explaining the traditional Lion look, this was an honest survey as it did not promote any product in any manner. Shaken off with the assertiveness and words like culture and tradition the Feminist in Lioness protested and declared that if Lion did not shave she will not co-operate with him.
While Office or Shopping, I mean on hunt or stroll the Lioness heralded her new Fashion Statement.
Lion to avoid any war finally agreed and was about to purchase the shaving kit. But here Lioness insisted that Lion should buy the Rs.125 razor and shave else face the consequence for not being modern and metrosexual.
Lion faced this Verbal, Emotional and Financial Abuse as his priority was not to shave and if shave then not with a budget of Rs.125. But had to finally succumb to the opinion of the Lady Lion.
The Silent victim Lion Shaved and there was Peace in the Family.
Now they went together for hunting and for a stroll, suddenly the lion saw his face in the water and was shocked to see that he resembled a Lioness and his Manliness was missing without his Mane, thanks to the triple blade.
He cried but that is where he was reminded that He is Lion, in that case Lion argued that he should be allowed to choose his style statement, but he was threatened of a Domestic Violence Case where he would be a perpetual Lion on duties but not a Lion King as far as Rights are concerned. In other words 'Your are a Lion so do your duties, but you cannot roar or exercise your own choice, Better do what she says else do not expect co-operation'.
Similarly the Indian Men are reminded of being a Man when it comes to Duties and money is being made to siphon through unidentified economic abuse. Instead are legally charged of being emotionally and Financially abusive when they are assertive.
Stop this Convenient Shift of Responsibilities and Convenient Grabbing of Rights. Stop this name calling and Abuse of Male which is Emotional, Verbal and Financial.
Let the choice be with him and Let us respect his choice.

PS: I know Lion's Mane and Stubble can arguably be different issues, but I am trying to convey a bigger message through this Humor.
