THE END of the Beginning.
This blog and other associated blogs have always spoken about various awareness seminars and events that exposed the large scale reported and unreported misuse of the wife laws in IPC like 498a and DV Act.
Everytime the event got bigger by virtue of awareness that reached innocents who dared to face the truth, that they have to fight it out, and everytime someone new spoke, it was realized that they are not alone but there are many who are victims pre threat and post case stage.

Newspapers, Television, Internet, Colleges, Societies, Groups, Offices, Radio then came peace marches and now peace ride.
When I saw this net photo as an online press release, after the Mega Delhi Dharna with people from 300+ victimes families attending (which in itself was a big event) I said these words and that is “It is the end of the beginning.” The TV coverage on Janmat and India TV was also massive.
And we had Peace Ride in Mumbai for a change we also had all the non affected families who participated in the ride but knew about the misuse of wife laws. We shouted “Biwi Sataye Hume Bataye” the one liner suggested by Victim Amitabh some days ago, and the best part was the non affected people also chanted slogans “Save Indian Family” “Stop the Misuse of Law” and somewhere down the line the slogan chanted by them became “Patni Sataye Hume Bachaye” The old attitude is definitely changing.
Thanks to SIF Movement that has come a long way, and for today’s Peace ride thanks to “Bombay Bikers Association”, Sundaram - TVS Group, Archana Singh of Channel 7 who has always understood this side of the coin too, The asian Age and Hinduatan Times, The Mumbai Police and Traffic Police who offline shared with us their pleasure in seeing this ride on a bigger scale next year and the surprised crowd who cheered by waving hands.

Hi Jinesh, It is great time for all the husbands because every one have chance to share their problems with other victims.
No one can stop us from doing good to individual, families and nation.
The Mumbai Bike Ride really adds another feather in the cap of the SIF PIF movement. The numbers were around 150 in this ride. Next year we would like to see 1500....
And we know its going to be close to that figure...

The government has not provided the tools to the common man to know what is a gift during wedding, which incase if the things go wrong is used by the wife to claim as dowry. This is just one example. Similar to a policeman who is expected to read the suspect his rights (i know it doesnt happen), similarly the law should first disseminate the rules/laws , rights/duties etc about marriage and then give the punishment if erred. What is the use of registering a marriage if the parties do not have legal documentation . It is like allowed to drive blind but will be skinned if caught in an accident.Right now wed as per custom mumbo/jumbo and if the relation falls apart it is 21st century. Actually a PIL /RTI should be filed against the Govt in the Supreme Court to know the Govt's stand on the custom, tradition, violation of Guest Control Act , Prosecution of influential fathers for the misuse of Govt machinery during marriage, divorces being finalised in more than 3 years (the poor person is penalised twice -by law and by in laws).
