Michchami Dukkadam
My Dear "Once-more-than-a-Friend",
I break all my karmic chords with you for good,
I would not be happy to see you in trouble,
I would not be troubled to see you happy,
I attended your all complaints about me through out our association,
Till I agreed to relieve you from me, following all your complaints,
What happened next?
Some damages cannot be undone but forgiven for good,
Some associations cannot be reworked but forgotten for good,
Let us not be obstacles to each other if not strengths,
I trust we have been better off without each other than being together,
We need not curse each other to justify our moves,
Let us break the old trend, Let us part as friends.
We feel, we are warriors in our battle fields, but little do we realise,
that there are people who suffer for us more than us,
Let us face it, It just did not work out, and we are loosing out on time,
Where ever you are, I wish you all the best,
I humbly bow down to your pure soul,
Michhamidukkadam to you and all those with you.
All the best. We both need to move on in life. I always wish(ed) you to be Happy (I mean it).
Once Yours-More-Than-a-Friend,
Jinesh... (as addressed by you)
SAVVE JIVA KHAMANTU ME
METTI ME SAVVE BHUYESU,
VERAM MAJAHAM N KENAI"
"I forgive (from the bottom of my heart without any reservation) all living beings (who may have caused me any pain and suffering either in this life or previous lives), and I beg (again from the bottom of my heart without any reservation) for the forgiveness from all living beings (no matter how small or big to whom I may have caused pain and suffering in this life or previous lives, knowingly or unknowingly, mentally, verbally or physically, or if I have asked or encouraged someone else to carry out such activities). (Let all creatures know that) I have friendship with everybody and I have no revenge (animosity or enmity) towards anybody."
Tassa "Michchhami Dukkadam"
Therefore the meaning of Michchhami Dukkadam is:
"My bad deeds (with you) be fruitless".
So concept behind saying or writing someone "Michchhami Dukkadam" is that
If I have done any harm to you then those bad deeds (I wish) to be fruitless and beg to be forgiven.
2 Comments:
dont know if i should write a comment...because i am female...but some stupid situations happened in my life...and the problem in my case is a guy. So i also think even though it spoiled my life, because I told my family about him..as he was talking about marriage, at the last minute he bailed which would have been fine, but then this is after I told my family about him. But anyways, perhaps this gives me an opportunity to be closer to god and pratice pratikaman. MC
Jainism says "The Fault is of the Sufferrer, the person causing you grief is doing a noble job of undoing your bad karma."
anyways for special reasons I will delete the comments from this post very soon.
meanwhile i am eager to discuss religion with you. pl mail me on indianhusbands at the rate yahoo dot com.
and we may discuss about pratikaman.
