Indian Husbands is an Expression. Women go to the police with a complaint (may be false), but the system provides to record that as a criminal complaint and that data adds in to the National Statistics of Crime Against Women. When male goes with a genuine complaint the police at max can record a Non Cognizable offence against the women. That will never reflect in the statistics. Then how will one guage crime against men? Every 100 Suicides in India have 63 Males and 37 Females. Every 100 male suicides have 45 married males, and every 100 women suicides have 25 married Women. Married women suicides have default arrests of the inlaws under presumed dowry death. Married men suicides entitle wife for a 50% share in property. What kind of equality is this? Nasik Seminar

23 rd September 2006, Nasik, Seminar for awareness of the Vulnerability of an innocent family to the misuse of 498a was arranged by the victimised and affected Dahanuka family. With Mr Subhas Kedia's Active Participation and A Joint Effort by Save Indian Family (Mumbai) and Purushhakk Saurakshan Samiti.
.
The Media received the cause with an Overwhelming note. Below are some excerpts from Sakal the lifeline newspaper of Interior Maharashtra where SIF was in Headlines (Lokmat too had SIF in headlines).

After the experiences of calamity in mumbai on 26th July 2005 and Bomb blasts of 11th July 2006 (7/11), I personally realised that nobody, absolutely nobody is going to help anyone and all we will have to do is help ourselves. Once again as aptly put up by Mahatma that "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

We did it in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and even outside India. Now we are aggressively moving in the interiors of the states with no looking back. Innocent People are responding with no idea that they can fight back. Lawyers are also encouraging the fightback against misuse, as a result they are over whelmingly participating in such free awareness seminars and also ready to share their experiences.
.
Not only SIF Nasik Chapter has been launched but a Nasik helpline too is floated (9371988132) that would cater to the victims of Maharashtra. The Total Strength of attendents was close to 75. SIF Team included Gokul, Gupta Uncle, Rishi, Suhail, and Rakesh. Tawri and Kalyanji were too present from Navsari and Pune respectively.
.
This programme was very very successful in clearing the block of the confused lot who are not able to realise that "Husbands can be Innocent and Wives can be Guilty, and there was no justification to the misuse of 498a". This mindset seemed to be fading at the end of the seminar at large.
.
This has come a long way and it has a long way to go. But "Where there is a will there is a way". Hope one day our next generation would proudly discuss about us when 498a in its current form would be history. And it is only our effort that will make it happen.
.
So for the sake of our next generation and our parents...
"Don't just sit there, do something."

Jai Mata Di,

Jinesh Zaveri.

Smita,

:-)) (ROTFL) Ok let me follow your steps.

Why bangdya (bangles)? ear rings, nak chi bali, payal sagla kai ghalnar.

We by virtue of law we have no other option, but alas we do not have rights on those accessories too.

for starters can you get those 22 carat bangdyas back? naye ke liye paise nahi.

further, amhi ghabarle (I am shit scared - assuming yes) and you doing the asli mardon wali baat. btw aaj kal ki ladkiya mard ke barabar hi hai may be ek step aagey.

then as per your symbolic theory, so why don't you start shaving and be cat whiskers.

I guess you must be already doing that, right? then lage raho.

i will were those bangles which were mine (originally) pls help me get them back. 22 carat. you can do it, you are the asli mard.

We may or may not wear bangles but one thing is for sure that you have put on our pants, oh my lady are you feeling shy?

Can't stop laughing. But, I am sure to get some frustrated ones and obscene ones for moderation soon from the 498a lobby.

Smita,

When women can wear baniyans, carry dildos in vanity bag and do road side pimp activity, men will certainly wear bangles to teach these bitches the appropriate lessons.

With great respect..I would like to ask Smita ji..if she has a Brother or not.I would be delighted to wear all the women stuff, bangles, payals, rings & every other thing...provided she offers the first one to her brother.
But looking at the cheap sense she has for Men I feel she probably has no brother & has never wished to have one.

Well but, anyways, another thing in my mind now is....Does she has a Father too..or not..??????

Lots of Love Smita Ji...

Kahani ghar ghar ki- Legal Terrorism in the from of false 498a

The increasing number of Sowry ( reverse Dowry)-related deaths has highlighted the fact that this immoral practice is rampant among the educated sections of urban society( More than 23000 husabnd’s life had been gone in last year , but not a single case those wives had been even questioned , forget any punishment).

Hello! uncle this is sneha i hope u r happy 2 see my comment on ur article. FIRST I want 2 thank u for guiding me in my project on IPC-SEC 498A MISUSE. I also want 2 thank your blog members for giving me an indirect inspiration 2 do this project. I also want 2 state that people like u r the ones who r actually fighting to save the institution of marriage without being biased on any grounds. in todays language u people r true followers of gandhigiri. once again i want 2 thank all u people for ur support directly or indirectly for my sociology project.
MY experience while doing this project was something which I cannot describe. During the seminar which was held in Mumbai really made me feel that women r not only the resembelance of godess Durga or Lakshmi but more than that they are sakhshat avtars of surpankha and trijata.THIS blog actually shows that every time male do not victimise women but women most of the time victimise a male through their attention gaining methods.

Yes Sneha, you are right,

I would like to thank you and your team for the support and understanding extended towards us.

The concern here is for both the genders. For guys because they are vulnerable of the misuse. and for the girls because their image is vulnerable. and in between the miya biwi fight the whole family of the boys side get in to unwanted trouble and terror.

we are not against the law, we are against the loop holes that encourage the misuse and against the indifference of govt and junta.

but together there will be a win win one day.

cheers!!!!

thank u uncle for ur response on my comment. I have also observed that the serials like Betiyaan on Zee tv and Parayadhan on starone potray men as dominating but they dont see amount of pressure of expectations put on them by the family members especially by the parents of the son. Tittles of above mentioned serials reveals the poor condition of females in the family but if we really go to see there r no conditions for the females to stay in a family whereas a male in the family has to contribute something or the other to run the family. And if we litreally go to see then females[daughters] in the family r parayadhan because they r the ones who carry "DHAN" WHICH IS "PARAYA ".

Its some solace to read that there are more to fight a cause with the common factor of being victimised by the manipulative women misusing the laws such as DV and 498A. I am being victimised to the extent of the woman taking away all my earnings right upto "nivala" from two innocent children born from my first wife who passed away in a road accident many years ago. She came in the garb of a God sent Angel to give a new hope to me and my two sons and turned out to be the devil one can only have a nightmares about. All this with the help of anti social elements or brokers and who will encash a situation on the pretext of supporting a woman. She does not realise that they are the ones who will exploit her during and after the implications she is forcing on me.

Its really sad. May we all come together and do something that prevents more people to suffer. I wonder if we can do anything about the Blind Indian Law which is grossly One Sided and allowas for complete misuse defeating the whole spirit of justice. A law which does not differentiate situations of the actual victims possibly in rural india and the situations manipulated by smart women in urban india, specially Metros.
